Susan Cohen has been teaching both piano and voice for 30 plus years. Prior to full time teaching, she performed professionally as a jazz singer with singers such as Sheila Jordon and Jay Clayton after studying at Berklee School of Music. Susan is trained in the classics, but enjoys working across all genres. She has loved playing piano in the orchestra pit for musicals, many of which she has directed. Over the years, many of her former students have gone on to have successful careers on Broadway and other professional music pursuits. Her philosophy in teaching is to get to know each student as an individual, and to make each lesson engaging, and believes that music be both therapeutic and empowering.
