Rick Rosoff is an experienced instrumental Music Teacher. He received his Master’s of Science in Teaching specializing in curriculum and instruction from Plattsburgh State University. Rick earned his Bachelorrs of Arts in Music Performance from the Frost Music School at the University of Miami in Coral Gables FL, specializing in studio music and jazz. He has taught band and lessons in the Shenendehowa, North Colonie, Saratoga, and Cohoes School Districts. Rick is a NYS Board of Education Certified Music Teacher. Brass and Percussion are his specialties and teaches from beginners up to professional level students on these instruments. He also teaches woodwinds from beginner to intermediate level (NYSSMA level IV), and beginner guitar and bass guitar. Rick is an established trombone player and drummer in the capital region. He plays trombone in the Glens Falls City Band, and either trombone or drums as needed in the Glens Falls City Jazz Band. Rick is a member of the United Federation of Musicians Saratoga local 506. Rick also plays drums and trombone with the Tim Olson Quartet, and trombone in the Brucker, Weiss, Canterbury Jazz Orchestra. In addition, he has a quartet of his own which he leads on trombone. Rick has played with of the Empire Jazz Orchestra, Keith Pray’s Big Soul Ensemble, The Joey Thomas Big Band, Nitro-Jive, and One-Eyed Cat. He has also performed with the Silver Arrow Band, The New York Players, and T.S. Ensemble. He has resided and played in the New York’s Catskill Mountains, Miami FL, Boston MA, and the Greater NYC-New Jersey area.
