
Erin Carpenter is an active clarinetist based in the Albany area. She received both her Bachelors & Masters degrees in Music Performance from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Erin has studied with numerous accomplished clarinetists, including Daniel McKelway, Andrew Seigel, I-Fei Chen-Markham, and Elizabeth Hanlon. She has also played the saxophone since 2011 and has performed in multiple pit orchestras. In 2024 she was hired as an adjunct professor of clarinet at SUNY Fredonia. Erin has performed in ensembles for various world premieres of pieces including Arthur Gottschalks’ Hacksaw, and Augusta Reed Thomas’Carnival. Erin has also participated in multiple professional recordings and composer consortiums. In 2023, she collaborated with the International Clarinet Associations 50th Anniversary Consortium with Margaret Brouwer.
